The project
A family bathroom untouched since the 1960s became a fully tiled home spa with a sauna, waterfall shower, and brass detailing.
This home spa in Runwell, Essex, replaced a tired, closed-off family bathroom that hadn't been renovated since the 1960s. The new space was transformed into a fully tiled home spa, built around a sauna and a wet room with a waterfall shower. Two full-height niches were finished with halo lighting, adding depth and definition to the tiled walls. Brass hardware was used throughout for a warm, considered finish, paired with a floating vanity and a smart mirror with ambient lighting built in behind it. Ambient lighting was layered across the rest of the space to complete the spa feel. The result is a complete departure from the outdated bathroom it replaced.
